Glances status moves from patent-pending to patented!

On behalf of Team Glances, we have big news to share. Last week on February 21, 2023, the unique technology behind the Glances no-code integration platform was awarded a patent by the United States Patent and Trademark Office® (USPTO). This officially makes Glances a proprietary software invention developed by our co-founder and CTO Chad Hutchins, co-founder and CEO Jason Eggers, and Director of Product Jon Sheppard.

“We’re thrilled to have been issued this U.S. patent, which validates the innovative teamwork that went into building Glances and its integrated data visualization process. This patent protects our ability to provide a seamless, 360-degree view of live data from multiple sources without the need for users to navigate to each source individually. Our goal has always been to simplify business workflows for professionals everywhere, and this patent is an important step in safeguarding our ability to continue doing so,” said Glances co-founder and CEO Jason Eggers.

Glances awarded Unites States patent for its unique technology

Unlike traditional integrations that move data back and forth, Glances empowers its users to not only connect with many applications at once, but to securely view real-time data across those many applications in one 360-degree view, anywhere online. Built as a powerhouse SaaS tool to eliminate tab toggling and app switching distractions for business teams, the original idea for Glances came from our founders’ 15+ years of experience creating software integrations for CRM systems and popular platforms. They discovered their clients shared a common struggle: the need to view data across multiple web apps, platforms, and internal systems in a single view.

“From our team's collective efforts on previous integration products, the approach and technology behind Glances has been a long time coming. It's exciting to know we've built something truly innovative and unique,” said Glances co-founder and CTO Chad Hutchins.

Glances patent abstract reads:

An integrated third-party API data visualization process (ITPDVP) provides the ability to gather information from multiple different sources into a single view without a user of the device having to navigate to each source from which information is gathered. ITPDVP is a process that allows a user to visualize data from one or more third party API sources from within a context view client.

Going through the motions to protect Glances as intellectual property was no simple feat – in fact, we submitted the necessary documentation to the USPTO back in 2020. Ultimately, we know this is an important step in safeguarding this unique technology so that we can continue to focus on what matters; making business workflows as simple as possible for employees. We also hope this official news increases awareness so that more businesses can benefit from this one-of-a-kind platform.
